What Parents and Students are Saying

PianoKids student wins 1st prize in essay competition

Winner 1
Holden Nelson, a 7 year old PianoKids student from our Dalton studio won this year's 22nd annual "Real Women Essay Contest" in his age class with this essay about his PianoKids teacher Galyna Karpenski:

I would like to tell you about my Piano teacher, Galyna Karpenski. She works for PianoKids.

Galyna was born in 1980 in Sambir, Ukraine. Galyna did not always have enough food or warm clothing. Galyna started music lessons when she was five, just like I did.

Galyna moved to the United States on May 29,2001. When she moved here she didn't know anybody and didn't even know English. It was hard for Galyna to move so far away from her family but she is glad she did because now she can do what she loves....teaching children to love music.

Galyna taught me to share because some people don't always have what they need. She also said I should try my hardest to be whatever I want to be, and if she can come to a strange country not knowing the language and just seven years later be able to speak it and do the job she loves, then I know I can be whatever I want to be.

And here is what parents have been saying:

I have to tell you how much we appreciate the learning experience you gave our son Eitan - he continues to play and practice every day throughout the summer. He even inspired his younger brother to start playing daily -- thank you!

Matti Kiin

Shortly after our son Domenic started taking piano lessons we saw an amazing transformation in his body awareness and ability to swim. We attribute much of this to the fact that he is working both sides of the brain when he is playing the piano. He stands taller and prouder each week! He looks forward to his weekly lesson and loves to practice. Thank you for giving our son an appreciation, skill and love of music but also confidence to participate in sports.

Jennifer and Scott Annand

Laura has been diagnosed with moderate dyslexia. She took some traditional piano lessons but they failed to teach her very much, except frustration. In PianoKids she has accomplished more than I ever imagined. She loves it and practices faithfully. What an ingenious program. It seems tailor-made for dyslexics!

Rise Tagge

Both our children began their piano lessons with the PianoKids program and made significant and rapid progress in their skill development. Most of all, they grew to really appreciate the piano and the value of serious study.

Rick Gregg

Stephanie has enjoyed taking lessons and takes great pride in her accomplishments. She enjoys practicing and mastering new songs. Peter, you have been a pleasure to work with. You are always available to assist or answer questions we may have. We are very pleased with the program.

Josie Fanelli

Cate and Liz truly enjoyed the classes and the music coming from the keyboard everyday is a nice addition to our home and life.

Lori & Warren Bean

I believe that having Isabella in your program was the best decision I had made last year.
Isabella loves her teacher Galyna so much, especially when she took the time to teach Isabella the song that my mom loves so much (she will play it this evening for my mom, who is coming from Mexico). It will be a wonderful memory for my whole family
Thank you for everything.

Maria Beckington

Ryan's self-esteem has improved since he started taking piano lessons. Now, every free minute he is at his keyboard. I don't think it's a coincidence that his teachers at school have also noticed a change in his attitude. You do much more than just teach piano! Thank you.
