About the School
The Berkshire Music School (formerly known as the Pittsfield
Community Music School) is the oldest and most respected music school
in the Berkshires. Founded 60 years ago, it serves a wide geographic
area and provides individual and group lessons in all instruments and
voice.
The technology lab was established at the school by the
PianoKids® organization in 2003, and has since become an integral
part of the school's public image. The PianoKids program acts as a
feeder program for the school's private lessons in all instruments, not
just piano. It lays the musical foundation for young children in basic
music literacy, piano, composition, and ensemble skills, and prepares
them for private lessons.
